Renovations move fast. Contractors are scheduling tile, electricians are pulling wire, and suddenly everyone wants the walls closed up. The problem is, if the plumbing rough-in isn't done right before that happens, you're looking at a potential mess down the road - leaks, drainage problems, or having to tear open finished walls to fix something that should have been handled on day one.

That's exactly the kind of situation we planned around on this Brooklyn renovation. We roughed in both the water supply lines and the waste lines before anything got covered up. Supply and drain work, copper connections, insulated pipe runs, proper waste stack tie-ins - all of it mapped out and installed with the finished build in mind. We use lead-free fittings and make sure every connection is solid before we sign off.

The toilet rough-in is a good example of where planning matters. Getting the flange height, drain alignment, and supply stub-out right at this stage means the toilet seats flush to the finished floor with no gaps, no rocking, and no leaks. It's one of those things nobody notices when it's done correctly - and everybody notices when it isn't.

Rough-in work is the part of residential plumbing that never gets photographed in the finished product brochures. But it's arguably the most important part. Every fixture, every drain, every supply line in that bathroom traces back to decisions made right here - inside the walls, under the floor, before the tile goes down.

If you're remodeling in Brooklyn or anywhere in the NYC area, getting a plumber involved early in the process is one of the smartest moves you can make. We work alongside contractors and GCs regularly, and we know how to coordinate so the job stays on schedule without cutting corners on the work that really counts.
